FATHER KNOWS BEST
Presented by Rita de Maintenon, June 19, 2011

Father knows best or – scientifically speaking: Who’s your daddy?

Father Knows Best” was a fantasy about what home and family life should be like. But, there was also “All in the Family!”

We have a heavenly father, a biological father and many of you ARE fathers. Since it is Fathers' Day, I will refer to God/Father as HE all throughout this look at fatherhood.

As earthly fathers go:

Regardless of our childhood scenario, Growing up, we need approval and validation

A parent needs to tell the child: I hear you, I see you, you matter. We need unconditional love, especially growing up.

If you fathers communicate all of these feelings, then you are probably “god-like” to your child. And they adore you….

However, if these needs are not fulfilled (through a biological father or father figure), we will struggle with the concept of approval and unconditional love

Many of us believe we pick our biological parents as a vehicle to this lifetime according to our sacred contract, divine blue print, etc., to begin our earthly challenges of learning and experiencing for our creator which hopefully will bring us closer to perfection and eternal life.

So we pick our challenges and our mothers and fathers to be teachers and stepping-stones to enlightenment and if we do not get the desired guidance and love from a human source, – sometimes we look for love in all the wrong places – but hopefully, eventually the yearning for validation and approval leads us to our perfect Father/God source and connection.

I found out that when I quit struggling and became still I found peace and a loving father I could pray and talk to, not the angry person on the other side of the door. Those affirmations and conversations kept me sane. I never doubted that my heavenly father’s wisdom was guiding me at all times and in all places. Science tries to explain that feeling as cell memory. I call it: My connection to my creator

We were all born with that connection and we need to nourish and reestablish it and then ask the father for what we want. Be specific and always add: This or something better or you limit yourself! Think of the old boyfriend, a car or a job etc. that you had your mind set on. If you ask for this or something better, you get much better then you ever thought.

Our heavenly Father knows what’s best for us. Once we realize this we can relax into divine order. No room for worry.

All of God’s children are in sort of a one-room schoolhouse on this planet. We are all in a different grade. Some of us are fast learners, some have a learning disability. We play or fight on the playground. The warriors and the peacemakers, male and female, God’s perfect plan.

We are here to prepare for eternal life and perfection. Although God’s will will be done, we have many choices along the way.

Sometimes God/father has a sense of humor.

He also says: Don’t mess with me! When you call in sick, you may get sick! You are affirming it.

Or you attract negativity to yourself that can manifest in the body.

So don’t ever affirm or state something that is not true or that you do not desire. Cancel/cancel!

God wants us to have a healthy self-image. Regardless of age, race, sex, or status each one of us is a child of God and we are perfect!

God/father as spirit and unlimited energy created us and we do not need to intellectualize any other “father” notions. If you have a loving father it is a special gift because he embodies the absolute good the heavenly father wants for us.

God/father is the true parent of us all, and especially today he is blessing all you fathers out there. He knows how challenging it is to be a father and to teach and love your children . All fathers know how hard it is to let your children venture out and learn on their own. It follows that God/father would do the same thing, protecting us while we acquire knowledge and experience in this lifetime.

Even the most perfect of earthly fathers, no matter how loving and well intentioned is unable to know exactly what is best for his child at all times or is capable of endlessly giving unlimited good to that child. As parents, grandparents, teachers etc we need to ask for and receive divine guidance in raising the children!

Here is a paragraph from the Quest, a Journey of Spiritual Rediscovery: In a very real sense God is the true parent of us all. We were created to be the vehicles through which God can best express. Surely that gives us some hint of the absolute love and care, which are invested in each of us. In the Lord’s Prayer, the words: Our Father tell us that we are all created by and loved by the Creator, which makes the entire human race brothers and sisters in the truest sense of the words. So each of us has an equal claim to all that the father has.

Once we accept that and we really know that we are children of God we will begin to act as if it were true. Children of God! Offspring of the Creator of the Universe! Inheritors of all that God

has. Remember, It is the Father’s good pleasure to give us his kingdom. It’s all there for us: Peace joy, love, health , prosperity. Whatever the father has is ours. And God dwells within me as me. We are God expressed in human form.

Most religions recognizing one God or creator use the word “father” in one way or another. The concept of the Cosmic Parent is universal and once we accept the fact that God created us, it makes sense that God is our parent. Christians believe that he created male and female in his image and likeness and that makes all of us his children, spiritual beings in an earthly experience – open to all of the blessings he wants us to receive. It also makes us all one, brothers and sisters on this planet.

I want to tell you about a movie, which shows a bit of how science is catching up with spirituality: I AM, by Tom Shadiak, a producer of many Hollywood comedies.

He was injured in a bike accident and suffered continuous symptoms of a severe concussion: so he contemplated:

What’s wrong with the world and what can we do about it? (Mixture of truth, science and spirituality). The Western World runs on a concept of competition and separation, which creates isolation and – eventually – war.

The basis of nature is cooperation and nothing in nature takes more then it needs. (Humans are often the opposite.)

Here is my disclaimer: I am no scientist but I did understand that there is proof all life is connected through DNA and something called mirror neurons so we can feel others’ suffering as well as joy. We are hardwired for a compassionate response. Our bodies and hearts send messages to the brain, not the other way around Human emotions create energy fields that create our own reality. Go see the movie!

In his book “The Moses Code” James Twyman talks about another book “The God Code”, written by his colleague Gregg Braden. In “The God Code” Braden puts forth the premise that God’s name is literally encoded into every human body. According to Braden’s research, the basic elements of DNA – hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and carbon – directly translate into specific letters of the Hebrew alphabet (YHVG), which then translate into another one of the original names of God. He believes that when we realize the signature of God is carried within the cells of every person on Earth, humankind will have the evidence to overcome evil with good. In short, we will be able to achieve the greatest desire of every human - peace.

To quote Gregg Braden:

Beyond Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Shinto, Native, Aboriginal, white, black, red or yellow; man, woman or child, the message reminds us that we are human. As humans we share the same ancestors and exist as the children of the same Creator. In the moments that we doubt this one immutable truth, we need to look no further than the cells of our body to be reminded. This is the power of the message within our cells.

From the moment of creation by our heavenly Father we are connected with all life.

Now take a d eep breath, hold hands, and join in this meditation:

God Father I am your child. Thank you for your loving arms as I go about the work which is mine to do. I know that nothing can harm or overwhelm me, for I am yours. I acknowledge that you are my source, my Creator, my Energy, my Sustainer, my breath and all that you have is mine. I also acknowledge my kinship with all humanity and all of nature. I give thanks that You and I and they are one.

And so it is!
